Happenings and updates:)

So it has been quite awhile since I have updated this blog. The boys and I are currently in Canon City Colorado with my girlfriend and her kids visiting her mom. We flooded in Minot and our house is under water at least halfway up the main floor. All of our stuff is on the second floor and it did not get there that we know of. We are not allowed back in our house till the water has receded to where we can drive on the roads so it will be awhile before we will even get back into our house to access the damage. I am pretty sure it will need to be remodeled though:( Unfortunately we did not have flood insurance but I know that God will provide and we will be ok. The boys school was flooded but I am not sure the damage there they are supposed to start back the 26th of August but am not sure about that either. Will keep you updated as we know more if you are interested in more news about the flooding in Minot you can go to KXnews minot to view it. I am putting up a pic of what our house looked like at the peak of the flood. I think it has gone down a little but have not seen it first hand to know. Hope all is well with you all reading this. The boys are doing good but having a bit of a rough time being misplaced we are hoping to get out and do fun things with them while we are in Colorado so that they have a little fun this summer all of the summer activities and sports I signed them up for have been cancelled:( and they closed all the pools and things so one more reason (besides the boil water order) to get out of dodge for a bit.

We are all safe and doing ok. Brad is coming here for the 4th of July weekend so that will be nice but he is still working hard and in charge of his shop so not a lot of time off.

For halloween this year the boys were Mario and Luigi. I was sick but we went to the University because they had and indoor trick or treat thing going on then we came home and Brad and the boys went out to hit the surrounding houses. Then we had some good friends and my mom and Ron here for Thanksgiving it was a nice visit and I am glad that they got to come. So we put up the tree a few days after Thanksgiving. Xander and Zaan disappeared for a little while and when they came back down we had santa and his elf in our living room! We all had a great laugh. I am now done with the semester and am waiting on three grades. I am bummed because I got a B in Macroeconomics but it could have been worse so I guess I will take that. Pretty sure I got an A in both of my social work classes but not sure about my biology grade am hoping for an A think I am in between the A and B range so we will see. Life is good here. Brad is staying busy as he is acting first shirt and is studying for his next stripe. The kids are doing great in school and counting down till Christmas break. Zaan's Holiday program was tonight so we had fun with that. Well that is the update for right now.

Pinewood Derby

Last Tuesday was the pinewood derby for Pack 412. Zaan an Mr. Aaron worked hard on his car:)

Zaan chose the design and did as much of the work as he could. He raced a total of eight times and came in first each race. He won the honor of tenth place overall and received a participation medal. Then night was fun till the end. However, we then moved on to district races last Sunday and he won 1st place in the Bears races and 4th place over all in the final twelve cars!!! Needless to say he got a cool medal and trophy for his wins and the day was a smashing success the only thing that could possible have made it better would have been having his dad there to share in his glory. Mr. Aaron was able to come and spend time with him and watch Zaan's car race. Here are some of the pictures of those two events:) His car was lighter on the first night and you can tell the different days because there are weights on the back of his truck in the Saturday runs:)!! Mrs. Pam and Zaan registering his car he loaned his one from last year to his friend to race and that is what Pam is adding lube to.

So Zaan had his last day of school and I got to go take pictures for the last hour.  He called to ask me to bring the camera and left a nice sweet and polite message on my voicemail.  He wanted a picture of him and his teacher Mrs. Braasch.  Awwww  He had a lot of fun and they ended the day in the gym playing games and the parachute came out too! Then it was off to Xanders last soccer game of the season.  They are the owls so I made Brad an Owl costume so he could be our Mascot and hoot for them on their last game. We all had a blast:) Hope you enjoy the pics and I will be updating again as I have Zaans bridging ceremony for Cub scouts and his joke he told at the talent show yesterday. Have a good night:)
